My name is Todd Durant.  I'm 32 years old, and I reside in State College, Pennsylvania, where I create 3D graphics for television broadcasts, design virtual sets, and set up on-air weather shows for television station clients.  The shows range in complexity from standard news broadcast on the local evening news to quick 45 second weather updates on the Travel Channel.

I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Geneva College in 2000.  Very early in my career I worked as a flight instructor and corporate pilot, and as a hobby, I began dabbling in 3D graphic design.  After September 11, 2001, I left the flying field and entered the computer industry.

For five years I had the opportunity to work for Volkswagen as a computer technician for its North American auto shows.  Ultimately, my goal was to become a 3D artist in television and/or film, so I brought a laptop and trained daily. Eventually I purchased Maya, a software program for creation of 3D content, and taught myself the skills that would be required professionally, and created a demo reel for potential employers.

In my spare time I love to learn different aspects of 3D graphics, such as motion graphics and scripting.  I also enjoy directing, shooting, and editing short films, such as Half-Price Movie, which won second place at a Pittsburgh Filmmakers contest and an animated short film called American Range.
